For example, in other cases, like in West Bengal, the central government didn’t trust investigation teams set up by opposition parties, but here, it is fully supporting the SIT.
The situation has also become politically charged because of religion. Some BJP leaders, including Daggubati Purandeswari, want Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, a political leader and Christian, to declare his faith in Lord Venkateswara, the god worshipped at the Tirupati temple. Reddy cancelled a visit to Tirupati in September after protests from the ruling party and its allies. They are blaming Reddy’s past government for allowing the ghee to be adulterated. To make things more heated, the current TDP government released documents showing famous people, like actors and a former Chief Minister, declaring their faith in Lord Venkateswara.
Technically, the investigation faces a challenge. The method they are using to test the ghee might not be able to show exactly how much “foreign fat” (fat not from dairy) is in it. This makes it harder to prove if the ghee was truly adulterated.
In short, the Supreme Court is trying to handle the situation carefully, ensuring the ghee used in the laddu is pure while avoiding religious and political conflicts that are complicating the issue. The central government has to make sure the investigation is fair and not influenced by politics or religion.
